A Non-Bollywood Lovestory

A Non-Bollywood Lovestory
#PossibleOrNot?
"Agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaaho to puri kayanat usey tumse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai."

Ananya Sharma!
I heard someone calling my name when I was lost in my fantasy. Back to reality again from daydreaming! I stood up and walked towards the stage. I was nervous... not because I had to give a short speech on why I chose this college for graduation, it was just because I had no idea what other students spoke in front of the crowd, I was not listening to anyone. I preferred thinking about "kuch kuch hota hain" and "student of the year" while the boring speech-thing was happening. Anyhow maintaining the attitude, I did the formality and after a few minutes, left the auditorium.

I and my friend from school, preeti decided to a take a walk inside the campus. Everything I Googled about St. Stephen's College seemed to be somewhat different today. The day was quite exhausting! 37°C isn't easy to bear.

"-Chal cafeteria chalte hain." Preeti grabbed my hand and dragged me before I could say anything. It took us 5 mins or so to get a table. Both of us ordered lemonade. I wasn't actually happy at that time. I was hungry, irritated and didn't know what to do next. I thought for a moment- maybe I shouldn't come here. It doesn't look like my dream-college.

She snapped her fingers!
-Kya hua? Class rooms dekhegi ya wapas chale?
-Bilkul mann ni kar rha.. jaisa socha tha waisi to koi feeling ni aa rhi hai.
-Matlab?
-Kuch ni.. tu ruk mai pay karke aati hu.

All my problems was- yaha to sab apne apne kaam me busy hai. Koi kisi se baat tak karne k liye ni ruk raha. I felt like a stupid who believed that on the first day of college, she's gonna be everyone's favourite. I was deeply affected by the Bollywood movies. I even had a glitch about being flooded by flowers when I enter the class room and so on.... but reality slapped me as tried and failed to connect to the other newbies. People actually aren't that stupid, I was I thought.
I was about to leave the cafeteria then suddenly someone hit me from the right side and I fell down on. It was already a tough day and this shit happened in front of everyone. Embarrassing moments don't need permission to come, no? I looked at him. He did not apologize or do anything except collecting the papers and notebooks that fell on the floor. I was about to curse that guy. I controlled my anger, adjusted my dress and without saying a word, started walking off. Preeti joined me.
We were finding the way to girl's common room. A girl told us to take straight and then to turn left. We followed her instruction. As soon as I took the left side, I was hit again. By the same person. And this time he hit me on the forehead. I turned red and almost shouted- "what's your problem, huh?" He stared with red eyes as if I did that willingly. He too looked irritated and said to me, "look, you have eyes too. So use those. I don't have time for arguments" and left.
Ugh! what a humiliating day it was!

The next day was my first class. I rehearsed to look confident while answering any question from the professors. First impression is the last impression- I remembered.
I entered the class of literature. The bell rung and after a minute, the professor came in. He was in his late 30s, over weighted, dark, about 5 feet 10 inches tall.
-I am prof. Gautam Verma, will be teaching u drama. There will be only 4-5 classes for this. You can check the syllabus which says 15 marks for drama & story writing, understood?
We all looked quite puzzled. I think everyone was expecting a intro session. Maybe he sensed that and begun to ask our names and percentage of 12th one by one. It was quicker than I thought. I was comfortable now in the class. After introductions, Verma sir started to speak about drama and it's type etc. At a point he mentioned of Love stories. Students started wooing. We all were enjoying our first class.
-You all know what Love story is. But does anyone know what the color of love is? Anyone? He asked.
Most of us, including me shouted- RED!!!
-No, red isn't the correct answer. Ok try again.
This time he was pointing to us one by one. Everyone said red as they were sure about it. Only Snigdha said pink. Those who didn't know her before looked at her. She was wearing a pink top with blue jeans, had a pink bag and pink lipstick on. It was clear that she was a pink lover. Many of us took her answer as a joke and giggled. She didn't care about it, so did Verma sir.
-You say. He turned to me.
-I would also say red sir. I answered.
He walked to the board and answered in a very loud voice, ensuring atleast half of the college hears him- GREEN!
Most of us couldn't control our laughter and burst this time. I recalled the song- "Hum pe yeh kisne...hara rang dala". Others started discussing their options. I could barely hear the remaining  lecture. The bell rung again n sir left wishing us good luck for the year. Yesterday could have been better if the weather was cooler, and not to forget if I didn't come across to that rude guy, I thought.
Rest of the day was also fun. I made some new friends there- Nisha, Vartika, Rishav and Roshni. At the end of the day, I started to have those filmy college dreams- dance competition, freshers' party, finding love- well who knows ;)
